The large scale development of building steel structures has put forward new requirements for the corrosion resistance of cold-formed thin-wall steel. The product quality (zinc coherence and appearance quality) is apparently superior to the solvent zinc-plating of low cost, and it complies with the state standards and effectively satisfies the corrosion resistant requirements.

At present, the cold-formed thin-wall steel generally uses black materials, and is put into use after cold forming and simple rust removing and coating, which has restricted its life (usually large area of rust occur after about 5 years). While the first continuous production line is based on hot rolling sheets and acid etching, heating and zinc plating has obtained wide application in building industry. In addition, it can be used in automobile, railway locomotives, expressway guard rails and other industries.
